I recently participated in a study at Simbec Clinical Trial Centre and had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly caring, helpful, and professional, making me feel well-supported throughout the entire process. While the food wasn't fine dining, it offered good, home-style cooking that was satisfying and comforting. The facility was very clean, and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay. Overall, I highly recommend Simbec for their outstanding service and attention to detail.

Staff are always friendly and professional and you are well looked after.
Can't see why there are any negative reviews.
I'll continue my regular studies for as long as I can.

I recently did a trial there. The staff were all very friendly. It was totally fine and got paid the study payment about 1 week after my follow up appointment.

The staff are very friendly and my partner says its the best place to do clinical studies however they take their sweet time paying you!! The website states that usually '2 days' after your follow up visit you are paid but I've never seen that to be the case. My partner has this time been anxiously waiting nearly 5 weeks and still no word from them. Be weary not to expect payment sooner. 3-7weeks is a safer bet.

Was treated like a piece of meat today!
My appointment was at 1pm
I was seen at 3pm, I was told not to eat after 9:30am it's now 6pm and I've just left.
The nurse that did my tests was extremely rude, saying there weren't any spaces for me today but they squeezed me in when they shouldn't! The ecg was apauling, the two nurses were bitching about the doctor saying if she doesn't like this ecg she wasn't going to do it again for her and just did multiple copies of the same ecg. She was extremely grumpy and that was not what I need after waiting 1.5 hours in reception and 4.5 hours in total.

The female doctor was incredibly lovely and apologetic offering me her own food as I hadn't eaten all day. Five minutes after I'm out the door I get a voicemail saying I'm not eligible with no explanation or invitation to call and ask why!

Really wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

I've had no problems since being a volunteer at Simbec Everything is explained to you in detail and your told what is happening and when it going to happen etc.
As well, all the staff are friendly they are happy to speak to you about any questions or concerns you may have The meals provided are adaquate. Payment for the compleated trials did take its time usually having to wait for over a month However that's now changed as your bank information is taken and payment is made directly to your account On my last trial I received mine within 2 weeks of the post screening I would recommend anyone to become a volunteer with Simbec however if your a little squeemish about needles then its not going to be for you.

Travelling Taff

Staff are generally really good, but if you want try and get on any test do not phone the free phone call centres. It seems like they don't pass on any information and I have missed out on several tests because of this. If you can get hold of anyone you're better off calling the local numbers. However these seem to be a lucky bet on the time of day too.

this may seem trivial but i went for a screening& my blood pressure was just over but the nurse said she would take it again,but the thing is she should have never said anything& just took it again,as because of her telling me it made me anxious&it went up even higher,ive done a lot of trials & they arent really meant to say its high till they done it at least twice&ever since then ive been anxious everytime my blood pressure is taken for screenings&now i hardly ever get on trials&it was a really good income for me. so thanks to that nurse for that!!
