I don't like having to write this review but unfortunately Matt vastly overcharged my 89 year old Mother and he has chosen not to reply to my message to him asking for him to explain.
My Mother needed to sort out her TV reception because it had stopped working.
She contacted Matt via his advert in the Rushcliffe Local News because she prefers to use local people. Also because the advert has the 'Checkatrade Approved Member' logo.
Together with my Mother, I looked online at the 'Checkatrade' Digital Aerial expected costs etc. They suggest a new Digital Aerial installation for this area is about £250. So concluded that in the worst case Mum may need a new aerial.
Matt came on the 9th December 2024 and was polite and efficient and found a simple fault that required replacing the aerial junction box that is half way up the front wall of the house. (These boxes cost about £10 or less).
Matt checked the TV's were working and the proceeded to charge my Mother £250 for his around 30 minutes of work.
I myself am a full time landlord and pay people in the trade every week for call outs and jobs including aerial work. My advice would be try finding people from Nottingham City or nearby for less than one third of what Matt charged including their call out.
I would like Matt to add his opinion to this on here and give his view of this job.
From my view - has he ripped off my elderly Mother - 100% yes he has.
