Visited today, Was a little confused how to get in to the museum but the young lady on the counter was very helpful. The price is a little steep for what you get in the museum but knowing its going to help the business helps. A stones throw from Cromford Mills makes a nice little walk after.

An amazing trip through history to the industrial revolution and into a more modern times, a lot of history intermingled with a trip down memory lane. This museum is well worth a visit. Take the guided tour to learn how our forefathers lived and worked and the dangers they had to endure. Days long, long before Health and safety!!

Very nice building from the outside. The sign at the fence says the museum is open for visitors. So we pay the carpark and go in. But, the museum is closed! Wintertime. Only the visitor center is open for tea or something. Even google said the museum would be open. So, we paid the carpark for nothing. What a bullshit. They collect money for visisting nothing.

Fascinating place. Enjoyed seeing the old machines including the demonstration of the loom. Definitely worth a visit. Tearoom looked nice too and we would have stayed for a cuppa if they didn't close so early (4 o'clock on a Saturday).

Is a great shopping experience has a museum and a lovely restaurant looking over the river the staff were all lovely and very helpful plenty of car parking with a small fee for example £2 for 2 hours but then you get £1 token to spend at the masson mills. I had a lovely afternoon tea for two and it was delicious in the restaurant and it was only £15

Sir Richard Arkwright's Masson Mill is a water-powered cotton spinning mill. The mill was built in 1783. It forms part of the Derwent Valley Mills, a WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Nearby is Willersley Castle, the house Richard Arkwright built for himself within the parish of Matlock.
The retail village, never reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic. They do tours, but unfortunately for us we missed the time of the tours, (check there website before going, photo attached) there is parking at the mill, they seemed to have changed one of the buildings for the mill into a small multi storey car park.
