We went for a snowdrop walk with house tour and wool spinning demo. Lovely day out, staff friendly. Teas looked good although didn't partake. Lots of events on.

We visited with another couple for the annual snowdrops display but it wasn’t a great experience. We had read a little about Braziers on their website and were intrigued to visit. Sadly the place is very much a ‘work-in-progress’. That’s fair enough but there was the unmistakable sense of a project in trouble.
We found it very hard to follow the map - they could have done with many more signs. We did see some snowdrops but nothing like the ones a few miles away at St.Botolph’s Church, Swyncombe.
There was also a lot of scrap metal in a large pile which was unsightly given the ‘back to the land’ nature of Braziers’ community.
The whole presentation and selection process of the tea needs re-planning. It would have been chaos if the weather had encouraged more visitors. (The door handle to the dining room needs repairing - one visitor took several minutes to open it from inside!)
Seeing what was on offer at the tea was disappointing. I took the safe option of a flapjack biscuit which was delicious. But the two slices of apple cake were hard and the chocolate cake dry - all three inedible. The coffee and tea were fine. But food at a place such as this should have been the best of homemade. Cost per couple was £5 car parking plus £4 each for tea = £13.

I have been volunteering at Braziers for only a week and am having the most wonderful time. The residents and workers here are all beautiful, friendly people who instantly made me feel at home. I was welcomed with open arms and the grounds are absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see what the next 3 months will bring
