I am currently trying to secure a lease on premises and was contacted by a third party who i thought had been passed my details as part of the process. They lured me into the contract with Valda energy.
I was told by valda that the account would be passed to the cancellation team and no money would be taken.... but they have tried to take money from my account today!
I still have no lease, never had the lease, have never had access to the unit but am being charged!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID

I was unfortunately introduced to Valda in January 2024. If I knew what I know now, I would not have attached myself to this shambolic outfit for 3 years!!

Installation has been a money consuming waste of time due to Valda and their incompetent sidekick IMserve. Valda have resulted to sending me inaccurate thinly veiled threats.

First installation visit. I was told that they couldn’t install and that I would need to appoint an electrician, at my own cost, to have the smart meter installed.

Second installation. I appointed an electrician, at my own cost, to attend jointly with IMserve. IMserve engineer left the job within minutes of starting informing the electrician that he could not complete the installation because he had not noticed on the first visit that UKPN had to replace our equipment. This is backed up by my electrician’s report, which has been provided to Valda. A complete waste of time and money.

When I raised a complaint, Valda / IMsurv responded as per the below:

“IMserv have confirmed to us that their regional manager has reviewed this with the engineer and said they should have spotted this on the first visit.
Additional training for the engineer has been provided around asbestos. I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused”.

Valda / IMsurv I am not interested in your poorly trained staff receiving additional training. I am only interested in the time and money you have wasted on my behalf.

Because the Smart Meter has not been installed, I am now being bombarded with inaccurate, thinly veiled threatening texts and emails from Valda:

“Our records show you haven’t booked your compulsory smart meter installation. Please be aware this is a requirement of your energy contract”.

Valda you need to properly check your records. I have booked your compulsory smart meter installation, not once but TWICE!!!!!!!!! This is the final straw and not acceptable.

UPDATE =

17/03/2025 - I received an email from Valda apologising for their messages. 2 days later (19/03/2025), the bombardment restarted with text and email messages!!!

I have contacted Valda about the continued bombardment, however they are now not responding!!!

Not only has installation been a complete waste of time and money, the reason for signing up with Valda was to reduce our energy bills, however our bills have significantly increased.
If I knew what I knew now, I would have stayed with our previous supplier

AVOID!! please do your research before joining and getting into a contract like we did!
We have had nothing but stress!!
Thousands of money lost! The rates we are paying for our small business is more than 3xs than other local small businesses!!
Unprofessional and rude!
I get phones called almost daily from Valda demanding money!
The list is endless! The stress we have endured throwing Valda energy has been horrific!!
Iv rang asked for our tariff to be changed to suit our area and other businesses! Told No! Nothing!
We signed up with Valda through a third party who was very good at selling the services to us!
Only after a few months in we was receiving bills of thousands!!!
This year alone 5 months we have paid over £3000!
I could go on and on!!
AVOID!!!!!

I am due to switch away from Valda Energy tomorrow and it can’t come soon enough.

I had incorrectly updated meter readings (got a digit the wrong way round!) and despite it being clearly incorrect, they decided I had used 3000 units in a single day, on a meter that isn’t used and has been the same reading for months.

I emailed with a picture and explanation, to which I received no response. Of course, I received my invoice and its massively incorrect. On an online chat this morning I explained (again) the situation and sent another picture.

I was eventually told that my account had been updated with the correct readings. My online account still says I am massively in debit!

Despite being told it was fixed I received a phone call from Valda at 1121 asking for payment, an email at 1126 headed ‘make a payment’ and a further email at 1136 headed ‘due payment’.

They are trying to extort the best part of £750.00 the day before I move to a new supplier, which, by the way is approximately 5 months of energy use!

No common sense applied, just the worst energy company I have had the misfortune of having to deal with.

Please do yourself a favour and stay clear of these charlatans!

Think very carefully before setting up any agreement with this company. I now have to go legal to try and get back £1800 of money they have embezzled me out of with phony meter readings and increased monthly increases.
I would suggest they need a complaints department to complain about the complaints department. They use the good old fashioned 'keep them on hold' and hope you hang up. Fortunately I can work and 'hold' for as long as I need to, which resulted in a 2 hour and 15 minute hold time and a poorly written and explanation email at the end of the call.
This company simply does not care about the customer, the service but only how to increase their revenue.
Think pay day loans disguised as a energy provider.
Pretty sure I'll get the standard and AI generated response stating that they cant locate my account.............
So please be aware of this shamble of a company .

😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡This company is here to rob people,
DO NOT ever use this company, they miss sell there electricity, they told me I was in a contract for 3 years which I never agreed too!!! After finely arguing with them for over 2 years, they sent me the voice recording, and shock there was know verbal agreement of the 3 years !!!
Apparently I payed hundreds of pounds to a broker! Again I never agreed to this!!! the customer service is terrible, they have not got a clue and so unhelpful,
Would strongly advise people never to use them 😡😡😡 They don’t even deserve 1 star but it has no o option !!!!!
The company I’m with now are £170.00 month cheaper than this disgusting 🤢 company. DO NOT USE THEM

Scam. Never had a contract with them and they’re sending email after email saying I owe them £108 for my new unit. I’m with a completely different energy supplier and I pay them. Although they send emails all day, you can never get through to anyone on the phone. I requested a call back and the lady said she’ll put me through to the right person after explaining my issues, was on hold then over an hour so I had to hang up.

Terrible company. Tried to set up an account in August 23, would NEVER get back to me. Promises of emails and call backs that never happened. Eventually gave up trying, since then still no phone calls even though they had all of my contact information.

Finally managed to get it set up this January only to be told I am 3 grand in debt which was wrong. Took 2 - 3 weeks to get that resolved and down to £1800 for the year and 6 months had been. Which is still really high. Tried to set up a payment plan to start paying it off, only to be told that I can only have 12 weeks to pay it off which is £146 a week. Was told I had no other option. So went ahead with that which is unmanageable.

So I wanted to start an investigation into it as it is due to the companies negligence that it wasn’t sorted sooner. Nothing has been done so far other than an email saying it is open. Was told to call billing for reduce the payment plan or stop it until the investigation is resolved. But guess what… the billing department will not pick up the phone to us. So I am left paying a ridiculous amount of money, with no help or support from anyone in the company.

I am 24, first time trying to pay bills. I am left severely stressed and emotionally drained.

Do NOT use this company.
