Not one to write a review all that often but I think Latitude 50 absolutely deserve one that's five stars. We last minute booked a hol to Rock in Cornwall and stayed at their property, Brickwood. It was absolutely seamless from start to finish. They offered us at the point of booking a travel cot, high chair and even stairgates, which made travelling with our toddler so much less stressful. These were all on-site as expected when we turned up.

The house itself was in excellent condition, and the welcome pack of Cornish goodies including milk, cereal, bread, biscuits and tea bags was a lovely touch. The house was probably one of the most child-friendly and well thought out properties I've stayed in. Furniture was sturdy and soft cornered, really cosy throughout and it stayed nice and warm as it's well insulated - we visited in September and it was chilly.

Plenty of hanging space, including for wetsuits over the downstairs shower, great tumble dryer and washing machine (necessary with a small one around), it even had things like a changing mat for little babies and dog bowls in the utility room that you could use, the kitchen was so well stocked you could have easily made a cake and there was more than enough cutlery, glasses and mugs for once which is a real plus (and unusual, in my experience). Beds the most comfortable I've found in any airbnb. The garden was also 100% secure for dogs.

You can tell the family that own this house visit it often and have thought of everything. I actually didn't want to leave at the end of the week, nor did my husband, son or dog!

When we arrived we found one shower slightly blocked and one lightbulb out in a room. Neither was a big deal, but I emailed them and by the next day a lovely chap had come to fix, both problems were sorted out in double quick time and I was really impressed that they did that so fast and efficiently.

I would highly recommend Latitude 50 and can't wait to go back again to Cornwall, for the first time possibly ever I would go back to the same rental in a heartbeat!

Ps- Brickwood is right opposite Bluntrock Brewery, literally 1 min walk away - a real plus as it serves food and drinks that you can just pop over to for a casual drink early evening and it's really lovely there.

Sadly a real let down this one and our first and probably last rental through Latitude 50. We were told it was the first time that the property had been rented out by the owners. Firstly there is no welcome book so you are on your own trying to work out how things work. The balconies were in a real mess with dead plants, dirty windows and piles of sand. The place was not cleaned properly for arrival. We were told on arrival that one of the heaters was not working and the toilet seat was broken … they offered to fix but no one wants tradesmen in when they are on holiday so we declined. Luckily we were a group of lads so not a problem. Shower heads were broken, lights didn’t work and things were generally tired. Radiators were rusty and plenty of damp to be spotted. If I was renting my place out for the first time you would make sure things were right for people. The plus side is the location is great and it’s a nice flat. The coffee machine exploded so keep away from that if you rent the place. On the downside if this is a rental for 8 people there is only one parking place. If you are here to cycle there is no cycle storage. If you are here to surf there’s no where to store surfboards or wash and hang wet suits. The place is ideal for beach sitting and walking really and as a general base. Kitchen needs more equipment really to prepare food properly. Looking at the website for summer its expensive and I personally think there are better places to rent. Latitude 50 you need to sort this place out … it was poor preparation on your behalf and you let the owners down too.

Well located property, but little attention to detail with cleaning and maintenance.
Issues included dirty outside furniture / broken lights / blinds / loo seat. I used the Dyson provided when we arrived and got 3 full containers full of dirt from the floors / carpets.
I sent a comprehensive, constructive and polite e mail re these issues and others, to the property manager and over all office manager (as advised by them as 'no one was available to take my call' to discuss). This was sent over 6 weeks ago and no reply or acknowledgement received. Their marketing is glitzy, but the under pining is not there. I would advise looking at other 'high end ' providers if you are looking for a holiday let in Cornwall, as we will be for next year.

Myself and my family (half of whom came over from America) stayed at Skylarks in Daymer Bay over the Christmas week. The house was disappointing to say the least from the moment we arrived. Broken, rotten entrance gates was the first thing, uncared for and dirty, shabby exterior. Cleaning standards appalling, we had to run every utensil and plate through the dishwasher before we used any of it. Broken, dirty kitchen cupboards, leaking toilet, mouldy curtains in the bedroom (which was a health hazard) all games in the living cupboard broken of bits missing, rubber seals coming away from the windows and doors. Leaking fridge as it was far too small to boast a home for 11 people and simply couldn’t handle the volume of food- at Christmas! Could literally go on and on but you get the picture. Generally the property was very dated and clearly needed a lot of TLC especially for a winter let. Latitude 50 were helpful to start with and had a meeting with the owners shortly after our stay to discuss all the issues raised. The owners decided our complaints did not warrant any monetary refund! Latitude 50 did however offer us a meagre £250 refund seeing as the owners had offered nothing. Although this was appreciated, it did not cover the disappointment myself and my family felt after saving all year to spend Christmas together. Houses should be checked once the cleaners have departed and before families arrive. First time customers of Latitude 50 and unfortunately this experience has erased all confidence in them and I would not use again. To the owners of Slylarks (which could be a beautiful house if some money and tlc were spent on it) I hope you see this review and take my comments on board.

We recently stayed at a great property in Polzeath for a week. There was a minor issue with a high chair not being made available initially but this was quickly rectified by Latitude 50. Upon leaving we accidentally left an item which they promptly arranged to send back to us in the post. We were very happy with the overall service from the agent and would not hesitate to use again.

We have stayed in Latitude 50 properties several times over the years and they are always our first stop for holiday houses in Rock, easy to book with and the properties are always well catered for and spotlessly clean. We try and come down once a year to Rock for the beautiful beaches and access to Polzeath and Padstow and will definitely be booking with Latitude 50 again.

I recently went for a 2 week holiday with my boyfriends family, they had spent a good deal of money to stay in the house Chy an Brea and its safe to say they did not have a stress free time. The house itself was lovely and perfect for what we needed but 3 things really did spoil the experience.
The first was how dirty the house was, the cleaners had obviously done the important things, such as; cleaning the bathrooms, kitchen and floors, but the whole place was dusty and one of the kids found dirty underwear under his bed.
The second thing was that Latitude 50 failed to inform us of building works going on next door. We were woken 8am most mornings to a circular saw which continued through most of the day and builders using bad language.
The third thing that happened was Latitude 50 had the nerve to take £10 off the deposit for a "stained towel" and i believe this to be a con. We did not do anything to stain a towel and the laundry company have the facilities to remove the hypothetical stain.
Lastly I'd like to give Latitude 50 a few words of advise. Someone should be double checking the cleaning standards before guests arrive.
I think that you should write a letter of apology to the family in question, especially as your attitude was not very welcoming a times. You shall therefore be named in this house as Attitude 50.
Finally it is bad form to block and ignore negative feedback from your website and social media. The correct thing to do is simply apologise and take this into consideration for future clients.
