I joined digital innovators in September/October of 2020 as part of my college course, not something I wanted to do from the get go. However as we had to do it I went into it open minded and willing to try it. Due to covid-19 we had online calls instead of real life meetings and they was shambolic from the get go. We had zoom meetings one week then teams the next, there was no co-ordination between the people setting these meetings up. There was a handful of helpful people such as Pete Crips who made the calls informative and interesting. The calls often lasted a few hours with there being multiple in a day and they was extremely boring. Once we was put into our project groups is when the experience got worse. I was put into a group that had a project with something to do with the NHS, due to lack of communication I was not 100% sure on what I was doing . Our project leader was extremely un-organised which lead to me feeling bored and burnt out. Our project team was then merged with another project group due to lack of numbers on our team. I was not informed about the move so when the merge came I asked our leader (who I won't name) to if there was any meeting this week. He said that he is no longer my project leader as I have been moved to another. I was confused as I was not told or given any information about this move. I asked if they could tell me a little about the project but I was told to ask someone in the course instead. I attempted to message Mick about all of this confusion however he read my message to which 2 years later has still not been responded to. Digital innovators was a complete waste of a year to which I did not learn anything valuable from apart from how to effectively waste time.
