Dumbreck Decorators Limited have been using Eque2 now for over six years and have found the software flexible and easy to use with powerful analytical tools on top of the program.
The company support is excellent with issues being addressed and solved quickly by the use of Teamviewer allowing the analysts real time views of any issues being encountered.
In all, a very easy and effective job costing programme which integrates seemlessly with Sage Accounting software.

I've used Eque2 EValuate at 2 companies now, and it remains my favourite of the estimating packages. Even better that it can easily link with further software for running a contract commercially once the tender is accepted. Eque2 have come back better and improved their service after any problems we may have had.

Would always recommend EValuate for Construction estimating.

Good idea . . . frustrating as hell . . . . . beware of the small print . . . . don’t say I didn’t warn you!!!

We have used Construction Manager software by Eque2 for 3 years plus now. In principle it is a very capable and useful piece of software. In practice it is frustrating as hell.

It is fraught with glitches and consistently doesn't communicate with your main accounts package resulting in transactions not posting across or them being posted multiple times. It can be a massive inconvenience trying to sort out what has gone wrong. Other times, you can be posting batch invoices where there are many transactions on one page before you post across. The software freezes and you don't know if they have posted across or not. Sometimes they just don’t post as the software had completely frozen so the only option was to shut it down and restart, only to find out you have to enter all the data again. Other times, they do post after a days wait, and in the mean time you have wasted all your inputting the data again, only to find it is all duplicated. It can be an extremely frustrating experience. Also, sometimes reports will print, then other times it decides it cant be bothered.

We fell for the kitchen salesman tactic, were you get a discounted rate if you sign up for longer. We should have seen the signs. In the last year of our ‘INITIAL CONTRACT’, we were just coasting through with the intent of finding an alternative solution at the end of the 3 years. We did receive a call from Eque 2 towards the end of our 3 year INITIAL CONTRACT stating that we would be entering into a monthly rolling contract, which I thought was very fair at the time. However when we found an alternative solution and asked how to end the contract, they suddenly brought out the small print saying we were tied into a further 12 months. Which in all honesty has prompted this review. WARNING: Don’t take what they say at face value. Read the small print and remember every detail.
Having requested a copy of the offending call, they said they log and record all calls, and surprisingly they have no record of this call. What are the chances

If Eque2 were confident in their product, they wouldn’t sign you up for three years, then into annual contracts. If the product was right, they would offer a monthly contract like most other software providers. The product should sell itself, but they sell you a product which you are stuck with.

Initially there was a dedicated helpline with very personal service but this disappeared soon enough. No dedicated helpline for this software now. Support Service was ok’ish. Polite yet slow. No urgency at all. Which is no good when you have people unable to do their job whilst they sort out things on their side.

In Summary: Nice idea . . . but its frustrating as hell to use.

My recommendation:
See if you can have a trial period to see how effective it REALLY is. I know they will claim there are setup costs, but the software should keep people wanting to use it, rather than you wanting to see out the end of the contract.
Know the small print inside out. INITIAL CONTRACT automatically goes into a rolling ANNUAL CONTRACT.
