We moved into a very tired coach house in September 2018 and the first project was to get the three kids a place they could escape to and so we decorated two bedrooms immediately but the third, my youngest's room, had mould on the walls and a hole in ceiling from my attempts to pull off the wallpaper. We knew we needed to find a builder as we could see cracks in the wall from the outside and feared the worst.

Having moved into the area, we had no recommendations to go by and so we went looking online. I listed local builders and rang round a few but one stood out head and shoulders in professionalism and "can-do" attitude.

When I met Aaron, I told him some of the warnings I had been given about buying a Victorian "project" and immediately he put me at ease and pointed out some of the concerns I had were actually not as bad as I thought. This guy is an expert in period properties and sweeps aside the techno-babble and inspired us by confirming we had a good roof and sound foundations (hats and boots) and through consultation with his colleague confirmed we did not have the dreaded subsidence. On assessing the bedroom, he confirmed that the cracks were the likely cause, which had occurred due to the kitchen wooden lintel settling over time and within a few days we had a reasonable quote to not only fix the ingress of water but to fully fit out the room with new plaster-boarding, additional sockets, new window furniture and provide a cavity wall which it currently did not have.

From start to finish the communication was effective and the tradespeople were professional and friendly. The work was completed to a very high standard and on time and some residual work I requested was completed without any fuss. My daughter is very happy with the results and now has the nicest and warmest room in the house.

Having had lots of building firms carry out projects for me in the past, I can honestly say that Aaron and his team are in a different league and Aaron's integrity and passion for what he does is compelling and I thoroughly recommend Insitu, especially if you have an older property that requires a delicate touch and sympathetic approach. Thank you to all the team and once we have saved up some more funds, we will be in contact for the next project.

Finding a reliable company to tackle the damp issues in my house was quite the journey, but thankfully I found Insitu. They understood the problem from the start and I trusted their judgment. The professionalism and respect shown by the team were exceptional, and I have full confidence in the top-quality job they've done. Insitu has my highest recommendation.

Insitu have been absolute stars with our property. After buying our first home we knew there were some damp issues but were sent into panic mode by a string of builders and contractors who gave false impressions and sky high prices to ‘fix’ our problems. Knowing in our guts that we weren’t being given the right guidance we carried on looking and were luckily recommended Aaron and his team.

I could have cried (with joy!) after the initial survey. Aaron is so knowledgeable about damp and how it can affect a property, and is passionate about getting the root of a problem rather than just covering it up. He was quick to reassure us that it definitely wasn’t as bad as we’d been told and formulated a plan to fix the areas that were causing the issues – some of which had been completely overlooked or ignored by other professionals.

All work started promptly, was completed quickly to such a high standard and was quoted at a really reasonable price. The guys were so conscientious and tidy and Aaron was incredible the whole way through, answering queries promptly, regularly checking in on the job and putting our minds at ease.

We really cannot recommend Insitu highly enough. As we’ve discovered over the past year it’s so rare to find a specialist as honest and genuine as Aaron who really is in it to help the client. His advice and support have been invaluable and we will definitely be using the company for any work needed in the future. Thank you so much!!

If you find yourself facing a damaging flood in your home, don't go anywhere else. These guys are a different class. Read on if you need more convincing....

When first noticed signs of what turned out to be a wet concrete floor we contacted a local surveyor who advised it was rising damp.
Looking up options I found a company that supply silicon rods that are injected into the concrete screed.
Insitu were a nearby installer so I contacted them. Best move I could have made.
Aaron, their surveyor, rang me to discuss what the symptoms were and immediately expressed the view that it could be a leaking pipe.
We arranged a site visit and when he arrived at the agreed time he had already done an exterior survey and been along the road to learn the geography. This is Aaron. He lives, breathes and literally tastes this stuff.
After thorough testing he confirmed it could not be rising damp and had to be a burst pipe.
He also described exactly what was going on under our feet and reassured us that it was recoverable.
Between us we worked out where the leak was and, along with Ben the plumber, identified the best way of fixing it.
At this point I was able to get my insurance claim processed and their surveyor met with Aaron who impressed them so much they were happy to progress with Insitu for the drying out phase without needing to bring their usual firm in.

Aaron and Rob, their ops manager, identified options, this meant we could balance the speed of drying and the amount of disruption. They knew the last thing we wanted was to have to get out of the house, and with summer approaching, they were confident we could use the warm weather as well as a few weeks of dehumidifiers to get the place dry and use autumn for restoration.

Their plan took just one of the 5 affected rooms out of action and having taken wet plaster and flooring out of there the theory was the rest of the water would find its way out with minimal work needed elsewhere.

Aaron and Rob regularly visited through the summer to measure progress and tweak things as necessary.

By September we were dry and Insitu submitted the proposal for restoration. Again, after one site meeting with the insurer's surveyor, we got agreement to the Insitu proposal.

Rob worked out a plan that fitted our work schedule and their guys arrived as planned

The quality of their work, politeness and overall desire to get a great outcome shone through. They are also all very tidy and we could use the house throughout.

As Aaron put it when he came round to review the final works, "our work here is done, we've given you your home back"

He used the word "home" not "house". That's the culture of Insitu and difference between them and the rest.

Following the receipt of a rather alarming survey that jeopardised the purchase of our Edwardian house, we were recommended to contact Aaron West of Insitu. For a small fee (a fraction of the cost of the survey) he analysed the property and subsequently offered clarity in the form of professional impartial advice. He placated our worries and enabled us to proceed with the purchase. Throughout the whole process he spoke to us as an old friend offering trustworthy advice, rather than a contractor trying to get work. I cannot review work actually carried out as we are yet to enlist the services of Insitu. However, Aaron was clearly extremely well informed regarding all aspects of property maintenance and renovation, suggesting that any work would be done to a high standard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend contacting Insitu and finding out what great service they offer

I would like to say a huge thank you to Insitu for their expertise and knowledge. We were recommended Insitu by a friend and I'm so pleased we used them.

Aaron visited our property a few times regarding a possible condensation and damp problem. With his expertise and knowledge, he was looking at the science behind the issues to locate any source. He continuously kept us informed on any concerns he had.

The main concern was reviewed by a few ongoing inspections which turned out to be historic and has now been resolved.

Everyone at Insitu has been very helpful and I highly recommend them.
