This is a tough one for me. Think it would be more of a 3.5.
Been here a few times now. The service is fine.
People are friendly enough. But sometimes you get good food and other times it just ok. The inconsistency with the food is strange.
But it's always clean and well maintained and in a good location with the farm stores to visit.
Veggie options are hit and miss as they seem popular to run out at times but not popular enough to keep well stocked.
It's pretty pricey for what you get in cafes but a place to go for a treat.
Enjoy

Had breakfast after staying at the Clive Arms. Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked with great quality ham. Felt it was a little expensive though, especially the orange juice. You get free coffee if you stay at the hotel, but not much help if you just want some juice!

The menu seemed a little haphazard for a farm shop with so much nice produce. It seemed expensive, but then the dishes came out and the food was fantastic. Probably best caesar salad I’ve ever had. The place only gets 4 stars as it was pretty dirty, lots of cobwebs and half the bulbs weren’t working.

Lovely lunch here today. We had ham egg and chips, a quiche and a Caesar salad. All of them tasted delicious. We ordered by using the bar code at the table and the food and drinks came quickly. We then decided to have a bit of cake and saw they had a great selection of fresh bakes to choose from. We had a slice of Victoria sponge and a slice of pistachio sponge cake.
We did order a latte and it wasn’t warm when it arrived but other than that, everything was fab! Will definitely return!

The place was busy but the food has the potential to be so much better. Overly fat chips that were more soggy than crispy, "chips & cheese" that stretches the claim to cheese (by our standards and those of 3 subsequent restaurants in the area), confit duck that was nice, guaranteed store bought frozen fish fingers, average beef burger that was tasty but my money is a store bought frozen patty. No zero alc drinks for the designated drivers.

Great coffee, tasty and well presented food, we had a beefburger and a pear salad food. It is situated in a little group with farm shop, gift shop and art gallery, as well as the Clive Arms - all to same high standard. Prices reasonable on all fronts.
