A media Base reception system has been installed at the care home my Mother is in. It is meant to log in staff and register visitors as well as several other options. Since the installation it has proved unpopular with both staff and visitors
As clever as computers can be, they are only as good as the person that programs it.
Every time you visit your relative you have to type in all your details whereas the idea was originally that when you had been in once, the system would speed up the process next time by recognising you. But worse than this is having visited the Home, when you next turn on your computer you find the system has sent you two emails telling you that you have visited and left the Home. People hate junk emails at the best of times but this is idiotic. And as ridiculous as this is, the management at the Home are unable to stop it.
