The ethics, morals, and standards of this place are questionable. They clearly don't manage their establishment like others. I was invited to come by to have my DNA checked for markers to see if I qualified for one of their trials, but the Pharmaceutical company closed the trial before my test results came back and before I could be considered for the trial. Now they are refusing to give me the results of my DNA test which would reveal if I had the markers that could indicate an increased potential of getting the disease in the future. This isn't ethical. On one hand, they wanted my DNA to aid them in their research for a new medication or treatment to help people in the future, but they wouldn't give me the results so that I could help myself to get a head start on early intervention. I have participated in other studies where the results of any labs or diagnostics were always available on request to the participants, so what is really going on here? I also worked for a facility similar to this, but the subjects always had access to their results. The name of the pharmaceutical company is Novartis, so beware. This raises concern of trust for me, because what if during a trial, an abnormality showed up on my lab work or a diagnostic test? Could these people be trusted to disclose this to the test subject after refusing to disclose DNA results on a test subject? They didn't just do this to me. These facilities depend on the money coming from these pharmaceutical companies to keep their doors open. Phamaceutical companies pay facilities to conduct trials for them. Does it make sense that they are willing to use a participant's labs and diagnostics to help everyone but the donor participant? These lab companies receive huge donations from our government plus in addition to trial participants and at the end of the day, they sell these new treatments and medications at prices most people cannot afford and they can't be bothered to at least share the participant's labs and diagnostics on request. Novartis refused to disclose my DNA results to me so that I could make proper decisions and take precautions to help myself. According to the contract I signed, I had the right to withdraw my consent for them to use my DNA. I withdrew my consent nearly 2 months ago and was told that I would be informed once my DNA had been destroyed. As of now, that still hasn't happened.
