Despite very poor WiFi service on a recent Edinburgh-Chesterfield trip on CrossCountryTrains @CrossCountryUK , the trainline's digital service provider NomadDigital chose to deny my genuine complaint and request for a WiFi refund. Their denial was actioned by a rather 'passively-offensive email'.

They hijack DNS requests and forge the responses in order to control what you can access, this leads to some serious security and privacy concerns.
If you ever have to use their services (e.g. CrossCountry WiFi) I'd highly recommend using a VPN or at the very least use encrypted DNS/DNS over HTTPS.
