I used Roberts to buy my house in 2010, and then to sell it in 2025. Everything was great both times - detailed plan available online, easy to contact, good cover when lead conveyancer is away, etc.

No need to be local to use them. Almost everything is electronic. Some things can be emailed, printed, signed in ink and scanned/photo for electronic return. Only about 2 things required the use of post to return a wet signature.

They are quite flexible, eg, I was buying and selling separately, but ended up exchanging contracts on the same day, and also completing on the same day a few weeks later. Due to that, it was easiest to process it as a chain to minimise money transfers which is what Roberts did.

My sale only took 4 weeks to exchange of contracts, very happy with how everything went.

Communication is excellent and the tracker tool for conveyancing progress is really helpful. Ben Thomas dealt with a recent case for me when remortgaging - the title on the house is not straightforward (a lot of history involved with a 230 year old property) but Ben ensured the mortgage application went through without a hitch.
Some people maybe put off by online conveyancing but our experience with RCS is that of trouble free process. When emails are quickly answered and there is a person you can phone if required, it doesn't matter where they are based. The online tracker tool is the icing on the cake.
